Field Set for John Deere Retama Juvenile Challenge

Ivory Noche is the fastest qualifier to the August 12, $35,000-added stakes.

Six 350-yard John Deere Retama Juvenile Challenge trials were contested at Retama Park on Saturday.

The field has been set for the August 12, $35,000-added John Deere Retama Juvenile Challenge at Retama Park.

Racing in the second of six trials on Saturday, K & W Land and Cattle Co.'s Ivory Noche recorded the fastest qualifying time. Ivory Noche covered 350 yards in :17.723, and the Ivory James gelidng's margin of victory was three-quarters of a length from seventh-fastest qualifier Tres Generales Ftl. Juan F. Garcia Jr. rode the homebred for trainer Brian Stroud.

Ivory Noche was bred in Texas and has won three of five starts. A finalist in the May 20 John Deere Sam Houston Juvenile Challenge (G3) at Sam Houston Race Park, he has banked $13,271.
