JC Wild Rose, Tempting Annee GL Top WRD Challenge Qualifiers

Two sets of trials were contested on Sunday.

Two sets of regional Challenge finals will be run at Will Rogers Downs in Claremore, Oklahoma, on September 24.

JC Wild Rose, a homebred daughter of Apollitical Jess owned by Jose Cervantes, is the fastest qualifier to the September 24, $32,500 Will Rogers Derby Challenge at Will Rogers Downs.

Ridden by Mario Delgado for trainer Carlos Ruiz, JC Wild Rose on Sunday won the second of two 400-yard trials by 1 1/4 lengths in :19.674. The multiple stakes placed filly was winning for the third time in 12 outs and pushing her earnings to $63,586.

JC Wild Rose was bred in Oklahoma, and her resume includes a third-place finish in last year's John Deere Will Rogers Juvenile Challenge.

Also on Sunday, five 350-yard trials determined the qualifiers to the September 24, $32,500-added John Deere Will Rogers Juvenile Challenge.

Tempting Annee GL, a homebred daughter of champion Tempting Dash owned by the Garza Laurel Partnership, recorded the fastest qualifying time with her half-length win in the first heat. Ridden by Mario Delgado for trainer R.L. "Rick" Robinson, the Texas-bred filly stopped the timer in :17.670 while earning her second win in four outs, all in Oklahoma.
