Dozen Fillies and Mares Entered in Merial Lone Star Distance Challenge

Jess Paint Your Lips is the 7-5 morning-line favorite Friday at Lone Star Park.

Two regional Challenge stakes will be run at Lone Star Park on Friday.

A field of 12 fillies and mares, headed by morning-line favorite Jess Paint Your Lips, has been entered in Friday’s 400-yard, $25,000-added Merial Lone Star Distaff Challenge Stakes at Lone Star Park.

Jess Paint Your Lips is a 4-year-old daughter of champion Jess Louisiana Blue trained by Stacy Charette-Hill for owner Randy L. Hill. The mare has won five of her six starts, including last year’s $37,000 Merial Prairie Meadows Distaff Challenge, and she has earned $55,492.

Jess Paint Your Lips drew post 8 and will be ridden by Jorge Torres.

Also on Friday, Bet I Make You Famous is one of eight horses entered in the 870-yard, $20,000-added AQHA Lone Star Distance Challenge Stakes (G3). Trained by Trey Ellis for owners Vernon Harman and Robert T. Moudy III, the 5-year-old son of One Famous Eagle has won two 870 stakes this season, including the June 2, 870-yard Virgil Bond Stakes at Delta Downs.

Bet I Make You Famous drew post 3 and will be ridden by Alfonso Lujan.
