Stevieb Flashofcash and Fames Prize Stone, the winners of the two trials held on August 4, are among the 10 2-year-olds entered back in Saturday's 350-yard $51,210 John Deere California Juvenile Challenge Stakes at Los Alamitos.
Monty Arrossa trains both Stevieb Flashofcash and Fames Prize Stone. A sorrel son of champion First Moonflash, Stevieb Flashofcash races for Five Livestock Company LLC, while Fames Prize Stone is a homebred daughter of First Prize Stone owned by Gary and Jeralyn Messenger.
“I’ve been happy with Stevieb Flashofcash,” Arrossa said. ‘He’s won three times in as many races. He’s run a little green, but he seems to be improving. He’ll be tough in the final.
"Fames Prize Stone is a nice filly," he added. "We’ve campaigned her pretty hard, and she’s won three trial races and has finished third in the Bitterroot Futurity and the John Deere regional at Sandy Downs. She’s been really consistent and the Bitterroot is one of the better races in the Northwest."
