Love To Reason BR Wins Sandy Downs Distaff Challenge

Love To Reason BR won the Boehringer Ingelheim Sandy Downs Distaff Challenge on the Fourth of July.

Love To Reason BR, a 5-year-old daughter of Good Reason SA owned by CMH Welding LLC, extended her win streak to three with a neck victory in Wednesday's $34,560 Boehringer Ingelheim Sandy Downs Distaff Challenge Stakes.

Ridden by Oscar Cervantes for trainer Farrol Cunningham, Love To Reason BR covered 400 yards in :19.361. In addition to posting a 106 speed index, the mare earned a spot in the November 17 Boehringer Ingelheim Distaff Challenge Championship (G1) at Los Alamitos.

Love To Reason BR was bred in California by Benny Rosset. The fastest qualifier, she was coming off of a 3 3/4-length victory in the first of two trials on June 22.

Raced in Idaho, Washington, and Utah, Love To Reason BR has won five of 15 starts, and her two stakes wins include the May 6 Sun Downs Distaff Challenge at Kennewick, Washington. The $15,898 winner's share of the purse from her second stakes score pushed her bankroll to $41,997, of which $28,409 has been pocketed this season.

Sparklin Cartel ran second and was followed by RTM Moonshine, Dahteste, Jess A Lil Fishy, Kono, Kissin Kate Barlow, Betrothen, Tic Tac Attack, and Dashing Executive.
