Two regional finals in the Bank of America Racing Challenge program were contested at Sun Downs on May 5-6.

Favorite Bling, a black daughter of Favorite Cartel campaigned by Juan Morales, scored her first stakes victory in Saturday's $38,700 Adequan Sun Downs Derby Challenge Stakes for 3-year-olds.

Ridden by Salvador Ibarra for trainer Juan Romo Jr., Favorite Bling went 400 yards in :19.858, and her margin of victory was a neck from L Bar D Razle Dazle. In addition to posting a 107 speed index, the filly landed a berth in the November 17 Adequan Derby Challenge Championship (G3) at Los Alamitos. L Bar D Razle Dazle also receives a berth to the race.

Favorite Bling was bred in Oregon by Donald and Peggy Boyle. She is out of Spring Bling, a winning homebred daughter of champion Hawkinson who ran second in the 2009 Hialeah Sophomore Invitational Stakes in Florida and was a finalist in the '08 Rainbow Futurity (G1) at Ruidoso Downs.

Favorite Bling has won three of 12 outs and has banked $25,955.

Corona B Gone, True Copy, L Bar D Classic Trip, Super Starr, Coronas Bar, Bringonthewave, Favorite Fire Boy, and Toastdinero completed the order of finish.

On Sunday, Mario Hurtado's Love To Reason Br sprinted to a neck victory in the 400-yard, $25,110 Sun Downs Distaff Challenge.

Prepped by Jose Rosales, Love To Reason BR stopped the timer in :19.884 and recorded a 106 speed index under jockey Jose Figueroa. The $11,551 winner's share of the purse from her first stakes win pushed the 5-year-old Good Reason SA mare's earnings to $25,499.

Love To Reason BR earned a berth in the Grade 1 Distaff Challenge Championship at Los Alamitos on November 17, as did Tickle Ur Fancy, the 13-10 favorite in the full field of 10, who ran second. Love To Reason BR was bred in California by Benny Rosset, and she has won three of 13 starts while racing in Idaho, Utah, and Washington.

The two were followed by Precious Dominique, Toughie, Seperate Flame, Kissin Kate Barlow, Tic Tac Attack, Gone Fast, Klassic Secret Br, and Mps Mamou Jewels.
