Louisiana-based rider Danny Lavergne will begin the 2014 Quarter Horse meet at Delta Downs after eclipsing a career milestone of 2,000 wins in the last month of the 2014 Louisiana Downs meet.

In the first race March 10, 2014, at Louisiana Downs, aboard Kenneth Roberts-trained Miss Barton County, Lavergne surpassed the 2,000 win threshold in a $5,000 claiming event.

Through the end of the 2014 Louisiana Downs meet, Lavergne finished with his career total at 2,005 wins.

Lavergne saw his largest career win come in the 2013 running of the $1 million LQHBA Breeders Futurity (RG1) aboard Kenneth Roberts-trained Ol Time Preacher Man. The son of Heza Fast Dash, out of the Streakin La Jolla mare JJ Streakin Illusion, earned $445,000 for the win.
