Hialeah Nominations Due Sept. 15
Hialeah prepares for its winter meet which opens December 26.

Hialeah Park, located near Miami, Florida, is preparing for its 2014-15 race season where it will offer some rich stakes with great racing opportunity.
The meet opens on December 26 and runs through March 2. It offers eight Quarter Horse races per day with daily purses averaging $140,000 per day, for a total of $5.6 million up for grabs.
The meet's biggest race is the $500,000-est. Hialeah Derby for foals of 2012. The trials for the race are set for December 27, and offer $15,000 purses for each trial -- the second-richest trial purse amount offered in the country. Those who qualify to the January 18 final will be running for $200,000 in added money.

Nomination payments for this stakes and others during the meet have their next deadline coming up on September 15.
