Trendi Scratches From All American Trials

Rainbow winner passes on All American Futurity trials.

Trendi won't contest the All American trials, according to her connections.

Rainbow Futurity (G1) winner Trendi will be scratched from the trials of the $2.6 million All American Futurity (G1), according to her connections.

The Wes Giles-trainee was entered into the trial races for the All American Futurity and drew into Race 2 on the first day of trials on Thursday, August 14, but according to both the trainer and owner William "Ed" Smith, the Grade 1 winner will be scratched due to an unsoundness issue that has hampered the Stoli filly since her Rainbow win, in hopes of waiting for future engagements in the coming months.

"She is just such a nice filly and as much as we would want to run her in the trials to get to the All American, the right thing to do is to give her time," said Smith. "She is paid up in futurities in California later in the year, and other futurities around that time, and we just hope that she gets over her issues and is ready when the time comes around for those races."

Trendi shocked the racing world to win the Rainbow at odds of 44-1 under jockey Larry Gamez.

Trendi is by Stoli, out of a Runaway Winner mare named Veva Jean. She is a full-sister to world champion and multiple Grade 1-winner Stolis Winner, who upon his retirement was the all-time leading money earner with earnings of $2,235,161.
