Heza Dasha Fire Can Cement Top Poll Rank

Poll freshman line up this weekend at Los Alamitos.

Q-Racing Journal

Can Heza Dasha Fire win the Los Alamitos Two Million?

There were no changes to the AQHA Racing-Horseplayernow.com national polls this week, but that is not to say there is no news. The top-rated juvenile, Heza Dasha Fire, seeks to lock down the year's No. 1 ranking among the 2-year-olds when he headlines Sunday's $2,078,777 Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity (G1). If he does so, he'll sweep the Los Alamitos Cash Bonanza and earn an additional $1 million bonus. Heza Dasha Fire already has tallied the Ed Burke Million Futurity (G1) and the Golden State Million Futurity (G1) en route to his potential blockbuster pay day.

No. 7-ranked juvenile Apollitical Blood and No. 9-ranked BF Farm Boss also have qualified for the final of Sunday's Los Al Two Million Futurity and could rocket up the charts with an upset.

The race for the year's top older horses remains in the camp of No. 1-ranked Moonist this week. The season's last major clash for the division comes in the Championship at Sunland (G1) on December 28. Two polls remain in 2014, rankings for December 17 and 31. There will be no national poll on Christmas Eve, December 24.
