Hialeah Meet Opens December 26
Stakes payments due on December 15.

Hialeah Park, near Miami, Florida, will open its 2014-15 meet on December 26.
Running through March 2, it offers eight Quarter Horse races per day with daily purses averaging $140,000 per day, for a total of $5.6 million up for grabs.
The meet's biggest race is the $500,000-est. Hialeah Derby for foals of 2012. The trials for the race are set for December 27, and offer $15,000 purses for each trial -- the second-richest trial purse amount offered in the country. Those who qualify to the January 18 final will be running for $200,000 in added money.
Final payments for the Hialeah Derby, Hialeah Maturity and FQHRA Stallion Stakes Derby are due December 15.
The $100,000-added Hialeah Maturity is a 440 yard race for foals of 2011. The trials are December 28, with the finals on January 28.
The FQHRA Stallion Stakes Derby is a $50,000-added 350 yard race for foals of 2012 sired by eligible stallions. The trials are December 29 and the final is January 18.
Sustaining payments are also due on December 15 for these races:
Sunshine State Derby, $30,000 Added
400 yards for Accredited Florida Bred foals of 2011
Trials: Feb. 7, 2015, purse $12,000
Finals: Feb. 28, 2015
South Florida Derby, $100,000 Added
440 yards for foals of 2012
Trials: Feb. 8, 2015, purse $15,000
Finals: March 1, 2015
Sunshine State Derby, $200,000 Guaranteed
400 yards for accredited Florida-bred foals of 2013
Trials: TBD 2016
Finals: TBD 2016
