Leaders Maintain Into Final Poll

AQHA Racing-Horseplayernow.com Poll heads toward end of year finish line.

Q-Racing Journal

Moonist, Heza Dasha Fire maintain their positions this week.

Heza Dasha Fire and Moonist both remained at their respective No. 1 positions this week in the AQHA Racing-Horseplayernow.com national polls for 2-year-olds and the older horses. The former did so despite a surprising loss in Sunday’s Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity (G1) that derailed a bid at a perfect season. The final rankings of 2014 will be released in two weeks on December 31, following Christmas break.

Heza Dasha Fire had been the unanimous top-ranked juvenile in the poll prior to his fourth-place finish Sunday behind He Looks Hot, who rose all the way to No. 2 with the Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity score. In doing so, he bypassed a pair of runners who had shared time at the top of the juvenile poll this season, Kiss My Hocks at No. 3 and JM Miracle at No. 4.

As for the 3-year-old-and-older division, the top 10 horses remained the same this week with a big date still left on the calendar in The Championship at Sunland Park (G1) on December 28. Moonist has been atop those rankings since the last week of October.
