Mr Jess Perry to RUI Hall

Top racehorse and stallion completes the 2015 class of inductees.

Mr Jess Perry never raced at Ruidoso Downs but his sons and daughters have had great success there.

Champion and leading sire Mr Jess Perry will join the Ruidoso Downs Racehorse Hall of Fame during ceremonies in June at Ruidoso Downs. Mr Jess Perry completes the 2015 class that also includes owner/breeder Jerry Windham, trainer Russell Harris and jockey James Dreyer.

A son of Streakin La Jolla and Scoopie Fein, Mr Jess Perry first gained acclaim as a racehorse when he named the 1994 champion 2-year-old and champion 2-year-old colt. He scored an open Grade 1 win as juvenile when he took the $384,567 Texas Classic Futurity, and he also scored a restricted Grade 1 win against Louisiana-breds in the $69,087 Louisiana QHBA Futurity.

As a 3-year old, Mr Jess Perry won another Grade 1 race with his win in the $134,347 Texas Classic Derby. Mr Jess Perry won 12 of 21 starts and earned $687,184.

When Mr Jess Perry went into the breeding barn, he became an historic stallion. He joins First Down Dash and Corona Cartel as the only three stallions in American Quarter Horse racing history to sire the earners of more than $45 million. He has sired at least 120 stakes winners, including 82 graded stakes winners.

Mr Jess Perry is the sire of world champion Apollitical Jess and six other champions: One Famous Eagle, Noconi, Matabari, Miss Racy Jess, Fredricksburg and Fredaville. Four of those champions are millionaires, and his son Mr Piloto is a millionaire by virtue of his win in the Grade 1, $1.9 million All American Futurity.

Mr Jess Perry has become a sire of sires and his daughters are leading producers. The Mr Jess Perry son One Famous Eagle sired world champion One Dashing Eagle from his first crop. He won three $1 million, Grade 1 futurities, including the $2.4 million All American Futurity on his way to earning $2,079,065 as a juvenile.

In 2014, Mr Jess Perry is the number-one leading broodmare sire of money earners with his daughters producing the earners of more than $8 million. He is also the number-one broodmare sire of 2-year-old money earners with those juveniles earning more than $4.86 million. The top 2014 money earner out of a Mr Jess Perry mare is two-time Grade 1 futurity winner Heza Dasha Fire with $962,956 in earnings.
