'PYC' Colt Tops RP Thursday Schooling Races
Strong winds accompany fast times in Thursday schooling races.

J & B Rental's homebred Paint Me Perry posted the fastest time from 75 2-year-old starters who made their debut in 12 schooling races contested on Thursday at Remington Park.
The track recorded tailwinds throughout the day from 29 mph in the first race to 23 mph in the 12th race.

Paint Me Perry pressed on the outside in the first race going for a head advantage over A Black Zipper at the wire. Francisco Gonzalez conditions the PYC Paint Your Wagon colt out of the Mr Jess Perry mare Baby Perry, a daughter of champion Kool Kue Baby. He completed the 250 yards in :13.17.
The aforementioned A Black Zipper held on for the second fastest clocking of :13.19. Joe Thomas saddled the Count Corona gelding for owner Julia Contreras. Out of the Special Task mare Stayin On Task, A Black Zipper is a half brother to stakes winner Midnight In Moscow (by Stoli, $74,292). A Black Zipper was on the front early and put in a strong effort to finish second.
In the third race, Marys Coronitas was never threatened as she finished in hand for an easy half-length win for owner/trainer Jorge Mendoza. The Corona Cartel filly out of Inbetween Dances, by Runaway Winner, completed the 250 yards in :13.45.
