Jose De La Torre's temporary restraining order is denied.

Press Release

Leading trainer is asked to leave Los Alamitos.

On January 10, in Department C20 of the Orange County Superior Court, the Honorable David Chaffee, presiding, trainer Jose De La Torre's Application for an order prohibiting Los Alamitos Quarter Horse Association and/or Edward C. Allred, owner of the Los Alamitos Race Course, from evicting and/or excluding him from Los Alamitos Race Course and racing programs was denied.

Commenting on the Court's decision, Dr. Allred said: "The eviction and exclusion of Mr. De La Torre from Los Alamitos Race Course and its racing programs was in accord with our rights under the law. We were pleased the Court denied Mr. De La Tone's attempt to force us to re-admit him to the track as we are convinced that his continued presence at Los Alamitos undermined the public's confidence in racing."

In late December, Jose De La Torre was reportedly asked to vacate the backstretch. A few months earlier, two of De La Torres' trainees tested positive for Clenbuterol, a substance not allowed on race days. The trainer has had other Clenbuterol positives in recent years.
