No. 1s Hold Poll Positions

Both No. 1 horses are set to run in Rainbow trials this week.

Q-Racing Journal

Both No. 1 horses will appear on-track this week.

Top-ranked Kiss My Hocks continued this week as the No. 1-ranked 2-year-old in the AQHA Racing-Horseplayernow.com National Poll. He’ll get a quick chance to showcase that ranking when he headlines Thursday’s Rainbow Futurity (G1) trials at Ruidoso Downs. The Tempting Dash colt, the only member of this week’s Top 10 entered in Thursday’s trials, is the 6-5 favorite in the afternoon’s 10th of 12 trial events.

Friday’s Rainbow Futurity trials also include this week’s No. 10-ranked juvenile, JM Miracle, runner-up in the Ruidoso Futurity to Kiss My Hocks. He tops the ninth of 12 trials on Day 2 of qualifying.

Meanwhile, No. 1-ranked older horse Rock You headlines Saturday’s Rainbow Derby (G1) trials at Ruidoso Downs. The Ruidoso Derby (G1) winner aims for a sixth straight win and fifth on the 2014 season, when he puts his streak on the line as the heavy favorite in Saturday’s Race 11. The Derby trials also include This Dude Can Fly in Race 7, winner of the Heritage Place Derby (G2) and ranked No. 9 nationally this week.
