The TQHA Sale kicks off with a BBQ on Thursday night.

The TQHA Yearling Sale will happen this weekend in San Antonio, Texas.

The sale runs Friday, July 25, and Saturday, July 26, at the Exposition Hall at the Freeman Coliseum. There are 263 horses cataloged for sale. The sale starts at 10:30 a.m.

All yearlings that pass through the ring are eligible for the 2015 $100,000-added TQHA Sale Futurity (RG2).

All consigners and buyers are invited to a free barbeque on Thursday, July 24, at 5 p.m. The barbeque is sponsored by the Bank of America Racing Challenge and Cooper’s BBQ.

Host hotel Hyatt Place is completely booked for the weekend of the sale. However, TQHA has made arrangements with the Crowne Plaza hotel in San Antonio to offer the $93 per night rate as well. This hotel is located just right down the road from the Hyatt Place and offers free shuttles to Quarry Market. To make a reservation, call the hotel at 210-805-0368.

Nearby Retama Park will be hosting live racing both Friday and Saturday, with first post at 6:45 p.m. Racing Ace Martha Claussen will be at the races on Saturday, offering a free tip sheet, paddock previews and answering questions on handicapping.
