Fair Meadows Opens Meet

The Oklahoma track opens for its summer meet.

Fair Meadows at Tulsa will run through July.

Fair Meadows at Tulsa opened its 2014 live racing meet on June 5, and runs through July 26.

The track in Tulsa, Oklahoma, will race most weeks on a Thursday through Sunday schedule. It will also host live racing on three Wednesdays: June 18, July 2 and July 23. First post is at 6 p.m. weeknights and 4:05 p.m. on Sunday. First post on July 4 is 1 p.m.

The track is under new management this year after director of racing Ron Shotts retired after more than 20 years. The Tulsa Co. Fair Authority hired the management at Will Rogers Downs to run the day-to-day business of the live meet. There will be major changes to the layout of the barn area and parking areas, and the simulcast facilities have been renovated, with a "drive-thru" betting window added.

Jesse Ullery will continue as racing secretary, and he and Mark Enterline are the primary contacts for management.

The track's stakes schedule, which has eight overnight stakes for Quarter Horses, is highlighted by the $85,000-added Speedhorse Futurity (G2).
