All American Gold Cup nominations are due July 1.

Press Release

The All American Gold Cup will be run on Labor Day weekend at Ruidoso Downs.

The all-new All American Gold Cup – sporting a $200,000 guaranteed purse, Grade 1 status and a Champion of Champions invitation – has an early nomination deadline approaching on July 1.

The All American Gold Cup will run at Ruidoso Downs over 440 yards for 3-year-old and older horses on August 30, the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. It is followed on Sunday with the $2 million All American Derby (G1) – which also carries a Champion of Champions invitation – and the $2.6 million All American Futurity (G1) on Monday.

The $750,000 Champion of Champions (G1) is contested on December 13 at Los Alamitos.

There are three ways to gain eligibility to the All American Gold Cup. One, pay the initial nomination fee of $2,000 by July 1. The next and final payment is then the time of entry fee of $5,000. Two, pay a late nomination fee of $3,500 by August 1. Then pay the time of entry fee of $5,000. Three, pay the time-of-entry supplemental fee of $10,000, which includes all fees.

The All American Gold Cup winner receives $100,000. The race pays through 10 places with seventh through 10th places paying $5,000.

Entry preference is by money earned in 2013-14.

Last year, the All American Gold Cup was a $40,000 race with Grade 3 status.
