Rock You Rockets Up Poll

Ruidoso Derby winner heads up the AQHA Racing-Horseplayernow.com Poll.

Q-Racing Journal

There is a new leader in the AQHA Racing-Horseplayernow.com Poll.

For the first time in 15 weeks, there is a new No. 1 in the AQHA Racing-Horseplayernow.com Top 10 Poll for older horses. Rock You supplanted Nellie Delaney in the coveted spot following Saturday's $943,279 Ruidoso Derby (G1) victory that advanced his record to 4-for-4 on the season. The son of Foose, who is trained by Eddie Willis for owner Reliance Ranches LLC, also notched the Bob Moore Memorial Stakes (G2) at Remington Park earlier in the spring.

Inactive since her February 16 Los Alamitos Winter Championship (G1) score, Nellie Delaney stepped back one spot to a firm No. 2 in the rankings.

On the 2-year-old front, reigning No. 1-ranked Kiss My Hocks out-dashed his rivals in Sunday’s $700,000 Ruidoso Futurity (G1) and cemented his position atop the poll this week. The son of Tempting Dash garnered all 11 first-place votes in a unanimous series of ballots with his name on top. The Toby Keeton trainee may return for the Rainbow Futurity (G1) trials on July 3-4.

Sire Tempting Dash also has the No. 2 freshman on the list; his Lovethewayyoulie, who won the $1,020,980 Heritage Place Futurity (G1) last week, sits firmly behind Kiss My Hocks. JM Miracle, a rallying runner-up in the Ruidoso Futurity in his second lifetime start, debuted in the poll this week at No. 9.
