Ivory James Filly Tops RP Training Races

A Quack For Jack posts the top time during Thursday's training races at Remington Park.

Remington Park opens its meet March 7.

The 2-year-old Ivory James filly A Quack For Jack topped 94 250-yard works at Remington Park on Thursday, and posted the best time from 16 training races held.

The filly is owned by Jack Peters of Eldora, Iowa, and posted a :13.51 time in the eighth training race. The filly raced into a 7mph headwind.

Bred by Jack and Joyce McClennen of Duncan, Oklahoma, A Quack For Jack was a $6,000 purchase at the 2013 Heritage Place Winter Mixed Sale. She is by Ivory James and out of the Tour De Kas mare Tour De Quack.

Ivory James is a 10-year-old son of Corona Cartel out of the Strawfly Special mare Dashin Follies. The Grade 1-placed runner earned $220,026 in his racing career. From four crops to race, Ivory James has sired the earners of more than $4.9 million, with 183 winners from 305 starters (60 percent) and 35 stakes-winning or -placed horses (14 percent).

Ivory James is a full brother to leading sire PYC Paint Your Wagon, and stands at Royal Vista Ranches at Wayne, Oklahoma.

A Quack For Jack’s dam Tour De Quack is a stakes-placed runner. She is the dam of stakes winner Chilled Wine (by Tres Seis, $78,347) and stakes-placed runners Ambassadors Daughter (by Stoli, $28,383) and Duck Mea Flying (by Fly Jess Fly, $17,854). Tour De Quack is a full sister to stakes winner and producer Lawanda Fay ($64,509) and Grade 2 winner Duck Mea Running ($213,962).

Silver Wings posted the second-fastest time by a 2-year-old during the training races, with a :13.60 in the ninth training race. The gray gelding was in-hand at the wire.

Owned by the Silver Wings Parters of Colby, Kansas, Silver Wings was purchased at the 2013 Heritage Place Yearling Sale under the name “Twin Eagles Will Win” for $19,000.

Silver Wings is sired by One Famous Eagle and is out of the Fishers Dash mare World Class Catch. He was bred by Daryl Hickman Investments LLC of Springdale, Arkansas.

One Famous Eagle was a racing champion and from only two crops to race has sired the earners of more than $5.8 million. This includes 2012 world champion One Dashing Eagle ($2,079,065).

Dam World Class Catch is out of the Merganser mare Class In Excess, making her a half sister to Grade 1 winner Red Clay Of Texas (by Splash Bac, $169,863) and stakes-placed runner Hiclass Heat (by Hiclass La Jolla, $107,888). Silver Wings is her first foal.

The unraced 3-year-old SR One Famous Chick posted the second-fastest time of the day, and the fastest time for older horses, with a :13.58 posted in the final training race.

SR One Famous Chick is owned by breeder Ron Sloan of Elk City, Oklahoma.

She is also sired by One Famous Eagle, and is out of the Special Effort mare SRs Genuine Effort.

SRs Genuine Effort’s first foal is the stakes-placed runner Jesses Featured Diva (by Feature Mr Jess, $17,335). SR One Famous Chick is her second foal. SRs Genuine Effort is a half sister to stakes winners Oh Baby Baby (by On A High, $18,873), Mysterious Memory (by Leaving Memories, $64,234) and stakes-placed runner Country Club North (by Seventy One North, $8,030).
