Remington Park opened its meet on March 7.

Remington Park conducted 13 training races on Wednesday afternoon, all at 250 yards.

The times were topped by the unraced 3-year-old Wave Carver filly Water Front, who ran the final training race in :13.14. Aided by a 16 mph tailwind, she cleared the field by  2 ¼ length, and was ridden by jockey Alex Baldillez Jr. The time was a record time for training races.

Owned by Rick Sumner of El Reno, Oklahoma, and bred by Ernest Sumner of Checotah, Oklahoma, Water Front is out of the Tres Seis mare Caddo Ridge.

The unraced mare, a half sister to stakes winner Perfectly Aged (by Corona Cartel, $44,083), is also the dam of allowance winner Jeez (by Oak Tree Special, $28,432).

Counting the training race, Water Front has now had three workouts in the last month at Remington Park to prepare for her first start.

Also posting a smoking time is Bella Vista Farms’ BV Travelin Soldier, who ran a :13.21 time in the fourth training race. The colt stumbled out of the gates, recovered, and pulled clear with the help of a 15 mph tailwind.

The time was faster than the training race record of Mighty B Valiant, who on March 9, 2011, ran a :13.22 time. The horse would go on to win the Remington Park Oklahoma-Bred Futurity (R) and finish second in the Heritage Place Futurity (G1) while earning $543,968 in his career.

BV Travelin Soldier is by all-time leading living sire Corona Cartel. He is out of the Tres Seis mare Ms Tres Seis.

The winning mare is the dam of stakes winner BV Mr Azoom (by Azoom, $54,780) and stakes-placed runner BV Mr Tellercartel (by Teller Cartel, $71,381)
