Jockey Jorge Bourdieu won six races on the nine-race card on Friday, May 23, at SunRay Park. He had mounts in eight of the races.

The top-flight day started with the first race, when he rode Thoroughbred Charlotte’s Saint to a 12 3/4 length victory. In the second, he rode Color Of Kablooey to win a 350-yard maiden claiming event, winning by a nose for owner Lonnie Harper and trainer Emilio Cadena Jr. He then guided Aire Trickster to a 2 ½ length victory in the third race, an 870-yard claiming event, for owner Kenneth Bass and trainer Wes Giles. The streak continued in the fourth race, also an 870-yard optional claimer, which he won on Padrisimo by a neck for owners George and Judy Weldon and trainer Blake Rust.

He picked back up winning in the seventh race, when he guided Sky Bay to win a 300-yard optional claimer as an 8-1 shot, the second-longest price in the field. He rode the horse for owner Jason Giles and trainer Wes Giles. Bourdieu then won the eighth race, a 400-yard optional claimer, aboard Feeling The Jump, for owner Romualdo Tarango and trainer Victor Rodriguez-Flores.

In his two other starts, he finished second and third.

Bourdieu began race riding in 1999. Since then, he has won 437 of 2,822 starts aboard American Quarter Horses, with mount earnings of more than $7.5 million.

Some of his top wins include riding Jess Delaree to win the 2010 West Texas Maturity (G2), Miracle Snow to win the 2013 Zia Handicap (RG2) and Wiggle Wiggle Wiggle to win the 2013 Four Corners Futurity (G3).
