Old Girl A New Face in Poll

Kindergarten winner joins the Racing Poll fray.

Q-Racing Journal

The juvenile poll adds a fresh face.

Following her win in the $261,200 Kindergarten Futurity (G2) at Los Alamitos, Old Girl provided a new look to this week's AQHA Racing-Horseplayernow.com Top 10 Poll for the 2-year-olds. The unbeaten filly's third-straight win netted her a No. 4 debut ranking nationally as this week's big mover.
Old Girl is expected next in the July 12 Governor's Cup Futurity (RG2) trials, where she could take further aim on the poll's top-rated juveniles. The top of the 2-year-old rankings is as tight as it could be in the balloting, as Paint Me Perry holds a 99-98 advantage over Kiss My Hocks this week for the No. 1 spot.
As for the older horses, Nellie Delaney continues to reign at No. 1 for the 12th straight week. She has comfortably out-balloted the competition all season since her Los Alamitos Winter Championship (G1) victory. There were no major shake-ups in the poll for the 3-year-olds-and-older set, though two-time 2014 stakes winner Dash For Cache snuck into the rankings this week at No. 10.
