Longtime industry executive Mike Anifantis will serve as assistant racing secretary at Hialeah Park during its 40-day American Quarter Horse meet, which opens December 26.
Anifantis is currently working as a placing judge during the Churchill Downs fall Thoroughbred meet, which ends November 30. Most recently, he served as racing secretary at Calder Casino and Racecourse in Miami.
“I expect to return to south Florida right after the Churchill meet ends and start at Hialeah around December 19,” Anifantis said.
Anifantis will assist Matt Crawford, Hialeah Park’s racing secretary. Crawford was previously assistant racing secretary at Louisiana Downs and Lone Star Park.
Hialeah’s Quarter Horse meet will run on a Friday-through-Monday schedule through closing day, March 2.
