Clarity Comes to Freshman Rankings

Heza Dasha Fire blazes to the top in the AQHA Racing-Horseplayernow.com Poll.

Q-Racing Journal

The Top 10 poll has a new racing leader.

After two months of heated debate between JM Miracle and Kiss My Hocks, pollsters in the AQHA Racing-Horseplayernow.com National Poll found the juvenile of consensus this week after Heza Dasha Fire continued his perfect run through the Golden State Million Futurity (G1). The 5-for-5 gelding tallied 109 of a possible 110 points in the balloting to wrestle control of the rankings. He had forged into the No. 2 position after an impressive trial win in the Golden State Million Futurity.

Heza Dasha Fire also won this summer's Ed Burke Million Futurity (G1) and is in line for a $1 million bonus if he can complete the Los Alamitos Cash Bonanza sweep in next month's Los Al Two Million Futurity (G1). JM Miracle and Kiss My Hocks rounded out a clear-cut top-three in the standings. The poll's newcomer this week was Golden State Million Futurity runner-up Apollitical Blood, who also was fourth in September's All American Futurity (G1) final.

As for the older horses, Moonist spends his second week atop the national polls after reaching that plateau on October 28. He has won nine of 10 on the year and has supplanted Bon Accord, No. 2 once again this week, as the divisional leader. There were no major changes at the top of the rankings for the older runners.
