AQHA is looking for a manager of racing.

AQHA is seeking a manager of racing.

This position, located in the racing department at AQHA in Amarillo, will work to promote and manage programs designed to build ownership of American Quarter Horses among racing audiences.

The Manager of Racing will develop good, working relationships with both internal and external contacts to promote the growth of membership, ownership, racing fans and racing opportunities throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and other international countries as necessary. The many facets associated with this position will allow the right person to bring together all the resources necessary to accomplish the goals and objectives set forth by the AQHA Racing Council and the Association.

The position will develop content for various promotional and communication platforms, promote participation in the Bank of America Racing Challenge and be the primary contact for American Quarter Horse racing marketing.

This position will work closely with AQHA Racing Affiliates to promote American Quarter Horse racing, AQHA racing services, the Bank of America Racing Challenge, all with the goal of increasing ownership and membership of and wagering on American Quarter Horses.

The work includes developing and selling advertising packages and programs for AQHA’s digital racing platforms, including but not limited to the Q-Racing Journal, Q-Racing Video and in coordination with Business Development department.

Other duties include operating as the liaison between marketing department, racing department and publications to help build marketing programs, advertising opportunities, web and other digital content for AQHA racing, develop promotion of the Bank of America Racing Challenge, the Association of Professional Horseman, promote youth education and participation in racing and work with the international department to promote Spanish-language programs.

This role has a significant role in executing the industry’s marquee events, meetings and functions.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business, Animal Science or equivalent experience, as well as, an understanding of the horse racing industry:
