Challenge Championship Post Positions

Post positions for the Bank of America Challenge Championships are set.

Prairie Meadows hosted the Post Position Draw for the Bank of America Challenge Championships on Wednesday morning.

Darian Burt’s Jesscuzican was selected as the 9-2 morning line favorite for the $350,000 Bank of America Challenge Championships (G1), which will run as the 10th race on the 11-race card on Saturday, October 18.

Jesscuzican will break from Post 4. The Feature Mr Jess stallion most recently finished second in the $200,000 All American Gold Cup (G1). 

Raising Kain was installed as the 7-2 favorite in the $200,000 Adequan Derby Challenge Championship (G3). The homebred Down N Dash gelding races for Pete Scarmardo and will break from Post 11 for trainer Leon Bard. The horse won last year’s $151,500 John Deere Juvenile Challenge Championship (G2) and qualified to this race through a dead-heat win in the Adequan Sam Houston Derby Challenge.

Denny and Sandy Weigt’s Jess Curl My Prize will break from Post 3 in the $150,000 John Deere Juvenile Challenge Championship (G1). Installed as the 7-2 morning line favorite, the Spit Curl Jess filly comes into the race with a 6-for-7 record that includes three stakes victories in the Intermountain region, including the John Deere Les Bois Juvenile Challenge.

Three-time Challenge Championship contender Shez Jess Toxic will break from Post 10 in the $100,000 Merial Distaff Challenge Championship (G1). The Take Off Jess mare is a homebred raced by Dean Frey, and is the race’s 5-2 morning line favorite. In 2011, she won the Juvenile Challenge Championship (G2) and was third last year in the Merial Distaff Challenge Championship (G1). She qualified to this race with two third-place finishes in the Merial Distaff Challenge Championship and Merial Los Alamitos Challenge Championship (G3).

Challenge champion breeder Bobby Cox will see his homebred Wahoo go out as the 8-5 morning line favorite in the $100,000 Red Cell Distance Challenge Championship (G1). The Feature Mr Jess gelding will break from Post 1. He qualified to the race by winning the Red Cell Remington Distance Challenge (G3), over a field that included fellow Championship runners Mixed Fantasty and SRD Bobwirebob.

Melovemetwo is the 7-2 favorite for the $75,000 Zoetis Starter Allowance Challenge Championship. The 4-year-old Furyofthewind mare owned by David Robinson will break from Post 5. She qualified to this race with a September 28 win in the Zoetis Will Rogers Downs Starter Allowance Challenge.
