Bon Accord Rises To The Top

Go Man Go winner hits the top of the poll.

Q-Racing Journal

Following Saturday’s Go Man Go Handicap (G1) at Los Alamitos, Bon Accord's co-owner George Lucas proclaimed, “There’s no question in my mind right now that he’s the best horse in the country.” The voters agreed in this week's AQHA National Poll, vaulting the two-time Grade 1 winner to the No. 1 perch. Bon Accord moved up four spots in the poll after defeating last year's world champion Last To Fire by a half-length.

The dominance of the 3-year-olds among the elder runners in the rankings has been supplanted by Bon Accord, who earlier this year won the Remington Park Invitational Championship (G1). He is followed in the poll by sophomores Too Flash For You, Moonist and Houdini.

There were no changes to the 2-year-old poll this week, which once again shows a razor-thin margin with All American Futurity (G1) champ JM Miracle owning a 97-96 edge over Ruidoso Futurity (G1) hero Kiss My Hocks.
