Copacorona Special will stand in Texas in 2015.

Stakes winner and stakes sire Copacorona Special will stand the 2015 season at Texas Stud near Beeville. His fee has been set at $1,500 with consideration.

From a limited number of starters, the son of leading sire Corona Cartel has sired eight winners, one stakes winner and his foals have average earnings per starter of $15,431. His top performers include Mexico Hi-Point Aged Mare Special Exterior SI-105 (15 wins, $262,096) and 2014 Firecracker Derby finalist Copacoronas Glory SI-95 (Winner to 3, 2014 $14,976).

Copacorona Special won or placed in nine of 12 career starts, earning $56,224. He won the Longhorn Juvenile Invitational and was a finalist in the Manor Downs Futurity (G2), Longhorn Derby (G2) and Longhorn Juvenile Invitational (R).

He is out of the stakes producing Strawfly Special mare Demi Special, a sister to Kansas Derby (G1) winner The Specializer SI-98 ($58,997). The second dam is the Grade 3-placed and multiple stakes producing Master Hand (TB) mare Copalena SI-98, dam of 6 ROM including the aforementioned The Specializer, Restricted Grade 2-placed Chief Windham SI-105 ($72,578), etc. This is the immediate family of stakes winner Packin Sixes SI-99 ($86,155), etc.
