Vince Mares has resigned as executive director of the New Mexico Racing Commission.

Vince Mares has stepped down as executive director of the New Mexico Racing Commission.

Under Mares' leadership, the commission adopted model rules from the Association of Racing Commissioners International, got significantly increased funding for drug testing, and contracted with the Maddy Laboratory at the University of California at Davis to conduct testing.
