Indiana Racing Commission Sets 2016 Dates

Indiana Grand's 120-day meet starts April 19.

Indiana Grand's 2016 meet will feature six Quarter Horse-only race dates.

The Indiana Horse Racing Commission on Tuesday granted Indiana Grand Racetrack in Shelbyville a 120-day Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse meet for 2016.

Indiana Grand's season will run from April 19-October 29. The meet will feature six Quarter Horse-only race dates, which will be announced at a later date. Post time for weekdays will be 2:15 p.m., while Saturday evening programs will begin at 6:05.

Also during the commission's meeting, Centaur Gaming president and chief operating officer Jim Brown made a presentation highlighting the successes at both Indiana Grand and Hoosier Park, a standardbred track in Anderson. The presentation highlighted the marketing efforts and capital improvements at each track.
