Longtime horseman Adam Villanueva died December 25.

Adam Villanueva, 55, died December 25, 2014, in Austin, Texas.

He was born July 4, 1959, to Pedro Villanueva Sr. and Elida Luna Villanueva. Adam was known for his love of horses. He was a trainer and jockey for over 30 years. Adam worked at Fulton Ranch near San Antonio, Texas, for more than 25 years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Pedro Villanueva Sr.; one sister, Josie Contreras; and one brother, Richard Villanueva.

He is survived by his mother, Elida Luna Villanueva of Alice, Texas; ten brothers, Pete Villanueva Jr. of Sweetwater, Texas; Joe Villanueva of Sweetwater, Texas; Angel (Mary) Villanueva of San Antonio, Texas; Johnny Villanueva of Alice, Texas; Mike (Yvette) Villanueva of Ben Bolt, Texas;Charlie Villanueva of Corpus Christi, Texas; Gilbert (Michelle) Villanueva of Alice, Texas; Ruben Villanueva of Alice, Texas; Ruben V. Gonzalez of Alice, Texas; and Eric (Gloria) Childress of Fort Worth, Texas; three sisters, Janie Fierros of Sweetwater, Texas; Elida (Juan) Cabello of Snyder, Texas; and Hilda Gonzalez of Alice, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
