Instant Racing machines in Wyoming have been temporarily shut down.

Wyoming attorney general Peter K. Michael has issued a ruling that temporarily shuts down Instant Racing in the state, claiming that, while the games themselves are pari-mutuel and therefore legal, the games’ “bonus” rounds are not.

In the wake of Michael’s opinion, the Instant Racing terminals in Wyoming were shut off on Sunday. The state’s parimutuel commission has scheduled a meeting for Thursday to consider ways to make the games conform to Wyoming law.
