Live Racing a Step Closer to Returning to Kansas

A local commission on Thursday passed a special-use permit for The Woodlands Racetrack.

Live American Quarter Horse and Thoroughbred racing is a step closer to returning to The Woodlands Racetrack in Kansas City, Kansas.

After eight years of no activity, The Woodlands Racetrack in Kansas City, Kansas, could be reopening its doors.

On Thursday, the Unified Government Commission unanimously passed a special-use permit for the owner of the track -- Ruffin Woodlands LLC -- to start planning.
