Poll stays steady heading into final weeks

Both polls in the AQHA Racing-Horseplayernow.com top 10s went unchanged this week, the penultimate release of the 2016 season revealed. All 10 spots for both the 2-year-old division and that of the 3-year-olds and older solidified going into the holiday weekend. One more poll will be released on the season – coming Wednesday, January 4, 2017 – following a holiday hiatus next week.

All American Futurity (G1) winner Imperial Eagle maintains a strong lead among the juveniles, 105-90, over No. 2-ranked Worth Doing. A Revenant, Lotta Blues Man and High Plains Perry round out the Top 5.

As for the older horses, it's All American Derby (G1) winner EC Jet One in control at the top, 107-88, over Champion of Champions (G1) upsetter Zoomin For Spuds. Last year's World Champion and final poll topper, Heza Dasha Fire, checks in at No. 3, followed by Jess Good Candy and AJs High. The $350,000 Championship at Sunland Park (G1) still remains on the calendar on January 31 for older horses to state their case.
