Remington Park Move-In Date Delayed

Move-in date for horses pushed back to February 12.

Oklahoma Quarter Horse Racing Association

The Oklahoma Quarter Horse Racing Association has issued an advisory that the horsemen move-in date at Remington Park has been delayed until February 12.

Horsemen have been notified that horses will not be permitted on the grounds at Remington Park until February 12.

According to an advisory issued by the Oklahoma Quarter Horse Racing Association, horsemen will be allowed to set up their barns as scheduled beginning February 5. The track will open for training on February 13, and the gates will be set that day. Entries for the first training races will close at 12 noon on February 12 by noon and run February 17 and February 18, if necessary.

"Horsemen will still be expected to get bulk shavings inside their barns as soon as possible even with the delay in arrival of horses," said the OQHRA advisory. "Out of an abundance of caution, the on-grounds admittance date is being delayed to allow Remington Park to better prepare and sanitize the barn area due to concerns with the EHV1 outbreaks in other racing jurisdictions."

Remington Park's American Quarter Horse meet opens March 11.
