Turf Paradise Announces Restrictions Amid EHV-1 Concerns

Turf Paradise has announced restrictions amid EHV-1 concerns.

Due to the recent outbreak of Equine Herpes Virus (EHV-1), Turf Paradise has announced the following rules until further notice:

Race horses will not be allowed to leave and return to Turf Paradise without proof of origin or proof of vaccination for herpes virus within the last 14-60 days.

Pony horses will not be allowed to leave and return to Turf Paradise.

New pony ship-ins will not be allowed.

No horses will be allowed to return to Turf Paradise after racing at Rillito Park.

Only Quarter Horses that have raced at Turf Paradise within the last 45 days will be allowed to ship on the grounds.

Horses from New Mexico and Texas will not be permitted onto Turf Paradise property.

Turf Paradise general manager Vincent Francia told the Paulick Report that racing will continue as normal at the track. The meet is scheduled to run through May 8.
