Quarter Racing Journal

Chazaq moves up the racing poll.

Chazaq, winner of the $1,070,00 Ed Burke Million Futurity (G1) on Sunday at Los Alamitos, made a bold move all the way to No. 2 in this week's AQHA National Poll for 2-year-olds. A winner in three of five starts, including a second-place finish in the Kindergarten Futurity (G3) final, Chazaq trails only romping Heritage Place Futurity (G1) victor Duponte in the rankings.

The juvenile poll also saw Running Dragon debut this week at No. 8. The Mountain Top Futurity (RG3) winner ran her record to 4-for-4 lifetime following Saturday's victory at Ruidoso Downs.

There were no changes to the Top 10 older horses this week. Remington Park Championship (G1) hero Zoomin Effortlessly remains on top behind his eight-race winning streak, followed by Moonist and Jess Good Candy rounding out a dynamic leading trio.
