Moonist Maintains Poll Ranking

Champion holds steady atop racing poll.

Q-Racing Journal

Moonist sits atop the AQHA Poll.

Los Alamitos Winter Championship (G1) hero Moonist continued his reign for the third straight week atop the AQHA National Poll. The 5-year-old son of Separatist garnered 105 of a possible 110 points in the balloting of national racing experts. A winner in both starts in 2016, Moonist was last year’s champion aged horse and champion aged gelding.
There were no major changes to the top 10 horses this week, only some minor shuffling in order. AJs High moved up two spots to No. 5, as pollsters enhanced their respect for his Eastex Handicap (G2) victory at Remington Park. He bookended a top five that included Moonin The Eagle, EC Jet One and world champion Heza Dasha Fire in their same slots from a week ago.
The AQHA National Poll is released every Wednesday through the remainder of the racing year, and will include 2-year-old rankings later this spring.
