Texas movers stake claim in AQHA Poll.

Saturday's $1 million Texas Classic Futurity (G1) winner High Plains Perry made a debut splash at No. 5 in this week's AQHA National Poll for the 2-year-olds. The Texas-bred gelding parlayed his first stakes victory into the only newcomer among the juvenile rankings. The 2-year-old poll continues to be paced in near-unanimous fashion by All American Futurity (G1) winner Imperial Eagle, who received 109 of a possible 110 points in the balloting.

As for the older horses, a contested trio at the top continued this week with EC Jet One (98), Heza Dasha Fire (92) and Jess Good Candy (91) all getting significant support. The only new face to the rankings this week among the 3-year-olds and older was First Valiant Sign at No. 7. He became the sport's newest millionaire in lifetime earnings when topping Saturday's $362,848 Texas Classic Derby (G1) at Lone Star Park.
