Twelve Ruidoso Jockey Club Employees Receive Scholarships
Scholarships totaling $19,000 were given to a dozen employees last week.

The Ruidoso Jockey Club awarded a total of $19,000 in scholarships to 12 of its employees on the final weekend of the season at Ruidoso Downs Racetrack.
Club general manager Lynn Crawford said that the scholarships came from a fund set up by the late L.L. Davis, the popular five-term mayor of Ruidoso who was a real estate developer and the general manager of the Jockey Club from 1973-2006. Davis died in March of this year.
The fund is replenished every year from membership dues.
Crawford and Jockey Club president John Templer presented the scholarships to the following recipients during a ceremony last weekend:
Conley Tucker ($1,000)
Shylo Dictson ($1,500)
Cash Ficke ($2,500)
Jacob Gochenour ($1,500)
Jared Pollock ($1,250)
Stephanie DiPaolo ($2,750)
Elyssa Douds ($1,500)
Jonathan Lewis ($1,500)
Bobbi Chavez ($1,000)
Travis Mosher ($500)
Lorena Alvardo ($1,500)
Luis Leyva ($2,500)
