Los Alamitos Cancels Last Seven Races on Sunday

A malfunction of the lights on the track's backstretch caused the cancellation.

Press release

Los Alamitos cancelled the last seven races of its scheduled eight-race program on Sunday. Live racing will resume on Friday night.

Los Alamitos Race Course cancelled the final seven races of its eight race evening card on Sunday due to a malfunction of the lights on the track's backstretch.

Live racing will resume on Friday, September 23. The Pick 6 Carryover of $35,709 that entered Sunday’s program will now carry over to Friday night. All wagers in the early Pick 4 and Place Pick All were refunded and there was a daily double consolation payout of $8.20. The daily double consisted of the first two races on the card. Los Alamitos did hold the first race on the card, a 4 ½-furlong Thoroughbred race.
