AQHA Racing - Poll

Heza Dasha Fire gains momentum in poll.

The initial post-Labor Day reaction in the AQHA national polls showed a strong influence on the results of the All American Derby (G1) and All American Futurity (G1) at Ruidoso Downs. But returning world champion Heza Dasha Fire appears to have made a slow-burning impact with his convincing September 4 score in the Go Man Go Handicap (G1) at Los Alamitos. Off for seven months, he earned a 102 speed index in his stakes return romp and this week closed the gap on top-ranked EC Jet One and Jess Good Candy in the balloting. Heza Dasha Fire picked up nine additional points in the voting this week to 85, trailing the top pair now by only 15 and 13 points, respectively, among the nation's 3-year-old-and-older horses.

There were no major changes or shifts to the polls this week. Among the juveniles, All American Futurity victor Imperial Eagle remains a near-unanimous No. 1 with 109 of 110 possible points in the balloting. Owned by Chuck Robinson and trained by Tony Sedillo, Imperial Eagle currently is riding a four-race win streak.
