Sunland Park Stewards Suspend J.R. Valenzuela
The veteran rider plans to appeal the suspension.

The board of stewards at Sunland Park Racetrack in New Mexico has suspended jockey J.R. Valenzuela for five years and fined him $5,000 for his involvement with a prohibited electrical device found during a search by state racing commission officials and track security.
Johnny Mac Hayes, an attorney for Valenzuela, said that the veteran rider plans to appeal his suspension.
