Gillespie Fair to Cease Racing Operations

Management has informed the Texas Racing Commission of its intent to end racing and simulcast operations on August 31.

Three tracks in Texas, including the Gillespie County Fair in Fredericksburg, have notified the state racing commission of their intent to cease racing operations.

The management of Gillespie County Fair and two greyhound tracks have informed the Texas Racing Commission of their intent to cease live racing and simulcast operations on August 31.

In a letter to the TRC, an attorney representing the tracks stated that they won't pay license fees for the upcoming fiscal year, which starts September 1.
