Los Alamitos Cancels Friday Card

The scheduled Los Alamitos Winter Championship has been moved to Sunday.

A storm forecast to bring high winds and as much as five inches of rain to the Los Angeles area has forced Los Alamitos Racecourse to cancel its scheduled eight-race program for Friday.

Los Alamitos Racecourse has cancelled its eight race program scheduled for Friday, February 17, as a heavy storm is forecasted to bring rain and high winds that day.

Already this season, areas of Orange County, where Los Alamitos Racecourse is located, have experienced more than 18 inches of rain.

Friday's card was to be headed by the 400-yard, $150,900 Los Alamitos Winter Championship (G1). The Winter Championship has been moved to Sunday's 10-race program, which is scheduled to get underway at 5 p.m. (PST).

Live racing will resume on Saturday. Post time is 6 p.m.
