Plan to attend the Public Policy Forum on January 19 at Heritage Place in Oklahoma City.

The American Quarter Horse Association is hosting a Public Policy Forum, featuring Dr. Eleanor Green, AQHA Public Policy Committee chairwoman, at 9 a.m. on January 19 in the sale pavilion at Heritage Place in Oklahoma City. The forum precedes the Heritage Place Winter Mixed Sale January 19-21.

The forum will feature discussions on what the horse industry should expect from the 115th congress in Washington, D.C., this year, including proposed legislation. There will also be a discussion about AQHA’s public policy efforts, featuring the launch of the new check-off program.

“AQHA’s check-off program will aid lobbying efforts in Washington,” said Ward Stutz, AQHA director of breed integrity, animal welfare and education. “Support of the check-off will aid in protecting the interests of our industry.”

To support American Quarter Horse racing lobbying efforts, sellers are asked to consider donating one quarter of one percent of the sale price of consignments at the Heritage Place Winter Mixed Sale. Support of AQHA’s Public Policy program will help the Association’s legislative efforts to ensure that the horse industry’s voice is heard.
