Edited press release

Ruidoso Downs has completed its stall application for 2017. Stalls not occupied by June 10 are subject to reassignment.

Ruidoso Downs Racetrack has completed its allocation of stalls to horsemen for its 60-day season, which runs May 26-September 4.

All stalls that are not occupied by June 10 are subject to reassignment. Health papers and health certificates on shipped-in horses must be performed by a veterinarian at the horse's point of origin (where the horse is shipped from.)

Ruidoso Downs meet opens with trials for the 350-yard, $1-million Ruidoso Futurity (G1), the first leg of the track's All American Triple Crown, and ends on Labor Day with the 440-yard, $3-million All American Futurity (G1), the final leg of the Triple Crown and Quarter Horse racing's richest and most prestigious race.

Seven of the 10 horses honored with championship titles by the AQHA raced at Ruidoso Downs last season, including world champion Jessies First Down and champion 2-year-old and All American Futurity winner Imperial Eagle. Both of these horses are expected to compete at the track this summer.

Judd Kearl, the sport's reigning champion trainer, will be bringing his stable, which includes Jessies First Down, to Ruidoso. Also, reigning champion jockey Esgar Ramirez will be riding throughout the season at the track.
