Pick-4 Record Falls at Los Alamitos

A total of $239,868 was wagered on the early Pick-4 on Sunday.

A Pick-4 record was broken Sunday at Los Alamitos Racecourse.

A Pick-4 pool at Los Alamitos topped the $200,000 mark for the first time in track history, as $239,868 was handled on the track's early Pick-4 on Sunday.

The previous record -- $197,178 -- was established on February 26, 2017. For the three-night weekend ending Sunday, a total of $542,784 was wagered in the early Pick-4 pools for a record average weekend pool of $180,928. The previous record for a three-night weekend was $162,207, established April 1-3, 2016.

A record average pool for the week was also set in the late Pick-4 of $129,157, which included $150,601 wagered in Sunday’s late Pick-4. The previous mark of $124,740 was set earlier this year. Sunday’s late Pick-4 pool was also the track's second-highest all-time figure, behind only the $160,312 wagered on Sunday, March 12, 2017.  Other marks set included:

--Most money wagered in the early and late Pick Fours for the week of $930,256 (previous mark was $856,247 on March 31-April 2, 2017).
--Most money wagered in the early and late Pick Four during a single night of $390,469 set on Sunday night (previous mark was $347,248 on March 12, 2017).
